Following the horrifying armed robbery of Kim Kardashian at her apartment in Paris over the weekend, the Kardashian family is reportedly "rethinking" their usual security measures. Kardashian and Kanye West are said to be actively pursuing a stronger undercover security unit while working to ensure such an incident never happens again.

"Their immediate need is undercover security—people who will be with them but stepped back to the side," a source toldEntertainment Tonight Tuesday. In addition to adding a more covert layer to their security team, the Kardashian-Wests are reportedly looking closely at their existing team members to see if any changes need to be made in the months ahead to keep their family as safe as possible.

"Kanye is freaking out," the source added. "This really threw him for a loop. There will be a lot of things that change now in terms of security, especially with the children."

Though Kim Kardashian has remained understandably silent regarding the armed robbery, local authorities have continued to release disturbing details of the attack. In a statement Tuesday, E! Entertainment said Keeping Up With the Kardashians was not in production at the time of the incident. "Our focus right now is entirely on Kim's well-being," an E! spokesperson said Monday.

The thieves, who remain at large, ultimately made off with approximately $10 million in jewelry after holding Kardashian at gunpoint inside her Paris apartment Sunday. Local authorities are currently investigating security footage and questioning members of Kardashian's team, with Page Sixclaiming in a report Monday that French police "suspect" the robbers may have been tipped off by her security.
