Six years after Jack Bauer said his final goodbye on 24, Fox is continuing the story on 24 Legacy. The series recently dropped a trailer ahead of its 2017 release, and it appears that things are turning up even more than they were before.

The 45-second trailer doesn't waste any time, getting into the action almost immediately. The show stars Straight Outta Compton's Corey Hawkins as the new hero, Eric Carter. In the clip, Army Ranger Carter and a band of high profile agents appear to have escaped a foreign war zone. But when members from Carter's squad slowly turn up dead, the former Ranger must race against the clock to stop a terrorist attack on U.S. soil.

Hawkins stars alongside Homeland'sMiranda Otto and The West Wing'sJimmy Smits. The rebooted series will feature the same real-time format as the original 24, which starred Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer. "24 isn't 24 without that," Hawkins told Entertainment Weekly in July 2016. "I think that's what made it special then, it's what's makes it special now. It's the same universe but different characters, you know? And it just opens up the world a little bit more in different threads."

24 Legacy is getting a two-night premiere beginning on Feb. 5 after the Super Bowl, on Fox.
