Last night, Paramount Pictures released five cryptic teasers for the upcoming Scarlett Johansson-starring Ghost in the Shell during a commercial break for the season finale of Mr. Robot. Each are about 10–15 seconds long—and they don't really tell you much—but I guess at least Scarlett Johansson looks cool while trying to pass off as an Asian character

Ghost in the Shell, the live-action adaptation of popular 1989 Japanese manga by Masamune Shirow has been the subject of controversy earlier this year for casting unmistakably white actress Scarlett Johansson to play the protagonist, Major Motoko Kusanagi, who is, sure, a cyborg, but also clearly supposed to be Japanese. It's a Japanese manga with Japanese characters—but alas, this is Hollywood.

There were even reports that the studio used CGI to make Johansson appear more Asian. A couple months ago, one of the film's producers, Steven Paul, defended the film's casting choice amidst all the controversy, saying people will change their minds once they actually see the movie. "I don't think anybody's going to be disappointed," Paul told Buzzfeed

Ghost in the Shell, directed by Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman) comes out March 31, 2017, so we still have to wait quite a while to decide for ourselves. But int he meantime, here are some teasers. Watch the first one above and the rest of them below. You finally get to see Scarlett Johansson in action as a mysterious cyborg. There's only one instance of dialogue, and that's in clip #3, in which someone asks her, "What are you?" In the last clip, she holds a gun. That's about it, really.
