Netflix hit Marvel fans with the very last Luke Cage trailer Monday, putting the show's obvious mastery on full display just days ahead of its heavily hyped debut. Luke Cage, the third collab between Netflix and Marvel, stars Mike Colter (Zero Dark Thirty) as Cage and will fittingly have a pre-Netflix premiere in Harlem Sept. 28.

After a botched experiment gives Cage some decidedly more-than-human strength levels, Cage sets out to reinvent himself in Harlem. When Cage finds out that Cornell "Cottonmouth" Stokes (House of Cards' Mahershala Ali) is running things, he's forced to confront his past while protecting his fellow citizens.

Cheo Hodari Coker, who penned the show's first couple of episodes and now serves as showrunner, compared Luke Cage to the HBO classic The Wire back in April. "We have a lot of different musical appearances, but at the same time, we've got the Marvel action," Coker said at the Captain America: Civil War premiere, according toEntertainment Weekly. "We've got drama. I would like this to be, I mean, I know this is heavy but, The Wire of Marvel television, because we really deal with a lot of different issues."

Luke Cage, like Jessica Jones before it, builds further toward Netflix's forthcoming Defenders series. "This is the big one," Defenders showrunners Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez said in a press release. "Four amazing casts, four amazing series, now all in one amazing story. We are thrilled at the opportunity to deliver the show that both we and the fans have been waiting for."

Luke Cage debuts on Netflix Sept. 30.
