For those of you suffering a serious Making A Murderer withdrawal Netflix are dropping another gripping crime documentary in the form of Amanda Knox.

The Netflix Original delves into the case, and media sensationalisation of American student Amanda Knox and the murder of her British roommate, Meredith Kecher. Directed by Rod Blackhurst and Brian McGinn, they explore the infamous case that made headlines around the world.

The trailer gives us a glimpse into the media frenzy that surrounded the case and gives us a preview of the main subjects (including Knox) who giving their firsthand accounts of the ordeal. Knox was twice convicted and acquitted by the Italian courts for Kecher’s brutal murder, however during the case her life was (naturally) turned upside-down. She became the subject of non-stop media attention, feeding the public's fascination through every twist and turn of a nearly decade-long case.

For the first time ever we get unprecedented access to the key players involved, plus unseen material, as the film transitions between the past and present, exploring the case with a fine tooth comb. The film also examines what role, we the public, play in the creation of 'front page' ready narratives which frequently blur lines of crime tragedy, justice and entertainment.

Amanda Knox will be streaming on Netflix from September 30.
