Just days after it was reported Iggy Azalea owed nearly $270,000 in unpaid taxes, it was confirmed she has inked a TV production deal with Universal Cable Productions and Wilshire Studios. And god knows she could use the extra paycheck.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Australian rapper will work with the studios to create "millennial-focused programming." The content will include scripted and unscripted shows, and will cover a wide range of topics, including social justice, tolerance, as well as women empowerment.

''Creating television that is reflective of my generation has always been an aspiration of mine," Azalea told the Hollywood Reporter. "I am incredibly excited to start working on my ideas and am humbled that Universal Cable Productions and Wilshire Studios have given me this once-in-a-life time opportunity.''

Before the studios confirmed, Iggy shared the news with her 9 million followers on Instagram, claiming her "Azalea Street" production company had signed a multi-year contract with UniversalNBC.

Though Iggy is no stranger to working in front of the camera (she's hosted MTV's House of Styleand recently signed on as a judge for The X Factor Australia), she's also had some experience working behind the scenes—most notably directing her own music videos.

"Iggy is a strong, passionate voice for her generation and has incredible creative instincts in all aspects of media," Dawn Olmstead, exec vp development at UCP and Wilshire Studios, told the Hollywood Reporter. "We already have projects in both the scripted and non-scripted areas. We are very excited to have her join forces with us."
