Following her appearance at this week's Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, comedian Sarah Silverman appears to have been the victim of a retaliatory Twitter hack. Early Wednesday morning, Silverman's official Twitter account shared a tweet reading "America, are you awakening?" that was hashtagged with #Hilary4Prison [sic] and #Anonymous:
The tweet also linked to a video, originally uploaded by a YouTube user named Anonymous Official in April, called "Message to Hillary Clinton." The video references Clinton's so-called email scandal and calls the Democratic presidential candidate a "puppet," promising that "the truth" is about to catch up with her.
Shortly after her Twitter account was hacked, Silverman appeared to regain control of it and clarified that she had, in fact, been hacked:
During her DNC appearance Monday, Silverman called out the vocal Bernie or Busters in the audience with an off-the-cuff remark. "Can I just say, to the Bernie or bust people, you're being ridiculous," Silverman said after giving a speech on why she, a vocal Sanders supporter, had chosen to follow Sanders' lead and support Clinton's campaign in an effort to ensure GOP nominee Donald Trump takes a loss in November.
Sanders himself has also endorsed Clinton, urging his supporters at the DNC to join him. "Any objective observer will conclude that—based on her ideas and her leadership—Hillary Clinton must become the next president of the United States," Sanders said during his speech on Monday.
