Thousands of people gathered in San Francisco to hunt Pokémon on Wednesday evening.

The Pokémon Go Crawl was organized on Facebook and had over 9,000 RSVPs, with an additional 29,000 people saying they were "interested." The biggest crowd, of several thousand devoted game players, was at one of the event's suggested start locations, Dolores Park, according to SFGate

Pokémon Go has exploded in popularity since being introduced in June. More people are now playing the game than using Tinder, and the game's success has added billions of dollars to Nintendo's market cap. However, the game's addictive nature has also led to occasional injuries.
