Elliot Alderson (played by Rami Malek) is back and he’s on the run in a hype new trailer for Mr. Robot’s second season. "Crash the system. Change the world. Pay the price," it teases. And, by the looks of things, that price will be pretty hefty.
After the “Five/Nine” hacks exposed the mega powerful E-Corp for its shadiness and sent the world into a tailspin, Alderson made himself a wanted man by the FBI. Now, with the help of Meryl Streep’s daughter Grace Gummer as agent Dominique "Dom" DiPierro and an endorsement from President Barack Obama, they’ll do whatever it takes to put him behind bars.
Meanwhile, fsociety is pondering whether or not they made the world a better place like they intended and Elliot will take up the Mr. Robot alias once again (played by Christian Slater) to steer his crew toward new hacks in order to make things right. This is why you should always listen to Uncle Ben.
For those of you concerned about understanding when exactly everything takes place, series creator Sam Esmail promises the "timeline will get a little clearer. Not a hundred percent clearer, but a little clearer." He'll have a bit more breathing room since two more episodes were added to the season, bringing the final number to 12.
Mr. Robot heads back to USA Network on July 13.
