Hamilton has the surprise pop culture hit of 2016 — a hip-hop stage musical based on the life of American founding father Alexander Hamilton isn’t something that you would have thought would have had everything talking yet somehow it has blew up, took over Broadway, won a load of Tony awards, and made creator/ lead actor Lin-Manuel Miranda into a megastar (and got him onto the cover of Complex)

So far, the hype has been limited to the U.S. But now it’s going international. It’s been announced that the stage show will be coming to London’s Victoria Theatre in 2017. That theatre is currently being refurbished, but Hamilton will be it’s big reopening. Tickets don’t actually go on-sale until until October, but you can pre-register on the website now.

Will the UK go as mad for Hamilton as the U.S. has? It’s hard to say — it’s a very American story, and you have to wonder how many Brits have actually know who Alexander Hamilton is. There’s also no word as to whether Lin-Manuel Miranda himself will actually be starring in the London production. But still, expect it to be one of 2017’s hottest tickets.
