Paul Feig's upcoming Ghostbusters reboot featuring a predominantly female cast has come up against plenty of hatred since the first trailer was released. Leslie Jones' role, for example, was met with criticism, although she silenced the haters when she clapped back on Twitter. It's not totally clear why people have been so resistant to the reboot of the classic 1984 film with a predominantly male cast, but now there are numbers that back up the loathing that's been circulating: The Ghostbusters trailer is officially the most "disliked" movie trailer in Youtube history.

An article on Screen Crush sheds some light on the staggering amount of dislikes the trailer has garnered so far by comparing it with other Youtube trailers. The Ghostbusters trailer currently has upwards of 600,000 dislike votes, while the Fantastic Four trailer from last year has slightly more than 20,000 dislikes, and people hated that movie. Even the trailer for Ridiculous Six, which has a 0% on Rotten Tomatoes, has only 5,800 dislikes.

With dislike votes that are still increasing at a rapid rate, the Ghostbusters trailer is the only movie trailer on the list of Top 100 most disliked Youtube videos. The number one most disliked video on Youtube is Justin Bieber's "Baby," which has 6 million dislike votes, although it's important to consider the video has been viewed 1.36 billion times.

It's safe to say that the circulation of this information about the Ghostbusters trailer will inspire Internet trolls to press that thumbs down button many more times before the movie hits theaters on July 15. At this rate, the trailer might have one million dislike votes by the time it comes out.
