Samantha Bee, a.k.a. the most necessary voice in late-night, has certainly endured her fair share of satirical GOP fun. Remember when she found out that buying a gun from a random dude in a parking lot was actually way easier than getting an NRA mascot costume? Hilarious! Also, pretty terrifying. To spread the Full Frontal message of comedic dissection across both sides of the aisle, Bee spent a good chunk of this week's episode waxing political with a group of Bernie Sanders supporters in Greenwich Village.

"It's easy for dried-up old crones like me to dismiss Bernie fans as naive kids who believe in wizards and unicorns," Bee admitted. "But I wanted to hear from actual Sanders supporters themselves." To accomplish this, Bee arranged an "impossibly diverse panel" that just so happened to include, by Bee's estimations, one "stereotypical Bernie bro."

After assuring the group of Sanders supporters she wasn't here to "bash" the Democratic presidential candidate, the former Daily Show contributor revealed she was actually hoping some of their unabashed optimism would inspire some of the same in her own life. "I'm just here to understand your optimism," Bee said, "stick my fingers in, roll it around in my hands and restore myself to the person I used to be."

Though most of these Sander supporters (and that one alleged Bernie bro) voted for Barack Obama and admitted to disappointment with the results, they are confident that a theoretical Sanders presidency wouldn't fall victim to the same political traps. When met with the group's insistence that the sole difference lies in people's newfound dedication to remaining involved with the political process even after the presidential election, Bee offered quite the retort: "Have you met people?"
