The barbershop isn’t just where you get your hair done or your beard trimmed. The barbershop is the center of the community—or, as Calvin (Ice Cube), the protagonist of the Barbershop film series, puts it:

“In every neighborhood, there’s a place folks get together to talk about their dreams, to share their frustrations, and maybe even tell a joke or two. It’s a home away from home. These aren’t just friends. They’re family.”

Now, that family is back, in the hilarious new chapter of the Barbershop franchise, Barbershop: The Next Cut.

While the barbershop may be the best place to bring a community together, there is only one true way for said community to celebrate: a good old-fashioned, down home barbecue. And that’s exactly what Warner Bros. Pictures hosted recently at the Well Store and Salon in Downtown LA. With complimentary BBQ to eat, music being spun by DJ Taja and Metro Boomin, and even an appearance by the USC marching band, the event brought such a strong sense of community that’s usually only found in the barbershop itself. Not only that, but Cube himself rolled up to greet the crowd before they headed on up the street to LA Live to watch the film’s premiere.

You can check out some highlights from the event and Ice Cube’s appearance above. For more on Barbershop: The Next Cut, and to get your tickets now, be sure to visit barbershopmovie.com. Be a part of the community!
