Fresh off confusing and/or hyping the hell out of everyone with a teaser last week, USA has finally succumbed to the charms of specificity by revealing a solid premiere date for the second season of Mr. Robot. The series, which we can independently confirm is great, will officially return for more hacktastic depression on July 13.  Thankfully, this date was strategically revealed alongside a proper dose of additional teasery.

Though not much is known regarding the events of Season 2, creator Sam Esmail revealed in a recent interview with Digital Trends that fans should expect things to get "really dark, really fast." In fact, Esmail insists the entire cast of Mr. Robot is just as worried as you are, though obviously for very different reasons. "We're still nervous with every episode. We’re afraid people are going to hate it and call us out as frauds or whatever."

The second batch of Robot, as we learned back in March, will also mark the debut of Joey Bada$$. The Pro Era co-founder will play a "new closer friend" to Rami Malek's Elliot, according to the Hollywood Reporter. This friend, a verbose conversationalist, will reportedly do a great deal of philosophizing. Chris Conroy, star of Two Night Stand, will also be joining the series in a recurring role alongside The Office vet Craig Robinson.

The strongest possibility of answers for all the questions the first season raised, of course, rests firmly with Sam Esmail. Thankfully, dude is set to direct all 10 episodes of the second season. Malek is of course back as Elliot, with Christian Slater returning as the (SPOILER ALERT) not-exactly-real Mr. Robot. July 13 suddenly seems like a really long time from now.
