Vin Diesel Unveils New 'Furious 8' Poster

Yes, it's no longer 'Fast 8.'

The eighth Fast and Furious film, directed by F. Gary Gray, will mark the beginning of the end of arguably the most beloved film franchise, next year. Vin Diesel, star of the franchise in all but two of the films/the Fast family's heart and soul, confirmed late last year that the ride would come to an end after one final trilogy. He revealed release dates for the forthcoming sequels in February. With a little less than a year left until the eighth installment Diesel has unveiled a poster for the film.

Diesel did the grand reveal on Facebook reportsThe Wrap. But before we get into what's going on in the poster let's note the title change. The film was previously being billed as Fast 8. Here's proof from Diesel himself.

Now it's been retitled to Furious 8, following in the footsteps of the box office force of nature Furious 7. The film, which was pushed back after Paul Walker's horrible death in the middle of production, earned $1 billion in just 17 days.

Back to the poster. In keeping with its "New roads ahead" tagline it features Diesel as Dominic "Dom" Toretto standing in front of his iconic black 1970 Dodge Charger R/T (Thanks Google!) in front of an open road.

Furious 8 will see franchise staples return in addition to Jason Statham and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Joining the cast is Mad Max: Fury Road's Charlize Theron, possibly as a villain.

Furious 8 is set to premiere April 14, 2017.
