Breaking news: Captain America: Civil War is poised to make a downright unholy amount of money during its opening weekend, giving Marvel yet another notch in its blockbuster belt. But just how massive will the allegedly quite lengthySpider-Man tease really be? By the Hollywood Reporter's best estimates, Civil War will certainly secure those unholy amounts of money, though achieving the same heights as Star Wars: The Force Awakens simply isn't a thing that fate is going to allow.

Civil War is currently tracking for an inarguably impressive domestic opening of "$175 million-plus," with some estimating the final number will indeed be much closer to $200 million. If these figures hold, that will set Civil War as (at least) the fifth biggest opening of all time. The aforementioned Force Awakens holds the top spot with its never-gonna-beat-it $248 million opening haul, followed by Jurassic World ($208.8 million), The Avengers ($207.4 million), and Avengers: Age of Ultron ($191.3 million).

Critical word on the street, of course, is very good. The 13th entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is currently resting quite comfortably with a 94 percent average on the esteemed Tomatometer. As for who we should thank for the MCU's continued successes, Robert Downey Jr. recently unveiled the real source of Marvel's inspiration: himself. "I get to take credit for everything," Downey Jr. joked to Jimmy Kimmel during a Captain America takeover last week. "There's no Marvel Cinematic Universe without me. I did everything."

For those concerned with how exactly the usual post-credits fun of Civil War may tease what's ahead, directors Anthony Russo and Joe RussotoldForbes last month that staying put in one's seat is likely a wise choice. "We can't say who is going to be in it but we can say there there certainly could be one, or two, maybe three," Joe Russo said of the possibility of knocking back as many as three post-credits scenes. "We can confirm that you should stay sat in your seats when the movie is done." Captain America: Civil War will start taking your dollars on May 6, apparently as many as 200 million of them.
