Star Wars: The Force Awakens gave audiences a glimpse at the history behind Luke Skywalker's lightsaber when new heroin Rey first got her hands on it. Now audiences are getting an even better look, doubling as a refresher for the entire Star Wars franchise, with this fan made video tracing the path of Skywalker's lightsaber. Ahead of Star Wars VIII—pushed back to the end of 2017—which is set to be "darker" and might reveal an unexpected fate for Han Solo (at least that's what Harrison Ford would have you think) this video provides your latest Star Wars fix.
Rey discovers the blue lightsaber in Maz Kanata's castle when she follows screams that turn out to be her own as a child. When she uncovers the lightsaber she immediately has visions when she makes contact with it including visions of herself as a child being left on Jakku. This all of course terrifies Rey, who's already confused about why she's able to withstand Kylo Ren's mind control, and is sent running after Maz Kanata tells her: "That lightsaber was Luke's and his father's before him. And now it calls to you." Rey would later see this in action when the lightsaber flies to her and then she proceeds to fight Kylo Ren.
The video, posted by Christopher Sherwood, showcases the lightsaber during some of the most important moments of the saga, so yes, there will be spoilers. Watch it above.
