Luke Cage might not have been the best part of Marvel's Jessica Jones (because, let's be honest, the best part of Jessica Jones was Jessica Jones), but he was certainly a great (mostly) level-headed foil for the Netflix series' anti-heroine. He's set to make a reappearance in the second season of Jessica Jones—and he'll probably pop up once or twice in Marvel's upcoming Iron Fist—but he's also getting his very own series, which is set to be released September 30.

We don't know much about the Cage series yet, other than that it takes place in Harlem, New York, and it most likely follows Cage either pre or post Jessica Jones. A few shots from the teaser circulated last Friday, but today the full mini-trailer has graced the Internet with its presence. In the 22-second clip, Luke Cage approaches some gun-weilding bad guys in what appears to be a boxing gym. We hear the click of a cocked automatic before Cage says, "I guess you guys haven't heard about me."

Then the bad guys open fire in his direction, only to be stunned when none of their bullets find purchase in Cage's impenetrable skin. His jacket, on the other hand, is ruined. "I'm about sick of always having to buy new clothes," he tells the group—cut to a shot of a body being thrown through a glass window. It's classic Cage: no frills. Some were disappointed with Cage's character in Jessica Jones; he came off as wooden at times, especially next to Krysten Ritter's feisty Jones. Luke Cage could be a great chance for Mike Colter to add dimension to Cage's character in prep for Marvel's Defenders.
