Just one week after expressing her desire to be Ted Cruz’s trans ambassadorCaitlyn Jenner’s Republicanism is back in the spotlight thanks to some gasp-inducing remarks on Donald Trump’s stance on women’s issues. In a clip from the new season of her E! docuseries I Am Cait, Caitlyn theorizes that Trump would actually inspire progress regarding such issues, though almost everything about his campaign platform practically screams the opposite.

"I’m not a big fan because I think of his macho attitude," Caitlyn says in a forthcoming episode when pressed by Chandi Moore for her thoughts on Trump. "I think he would have a hard time with women when he doesn’t even realize it, and it doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be good for women’s issues." Caitlyn then doubled down: "I think he would be very good for women’s issues." Jenny Boylan, inadvertently speaking on behalf of presumably shocked viewers, then asks for someone nearby to simply "kill me now."

Adding that she doesn’t feel that Trump is "out there to destroy women," Caitlyn then took direct aim at leading Democratic candidateHillary Clinton. "I would never ever ever vote for Hillary," she says. "We’re done, if Hillary becomes President. The country is over." According to Caitlyn, Hillary is a "political hack" and a "fucking liar."

As fellow viewers of the first season of I Am Cait can attest, part of the journey documented on the series centers on Caitlyn's own education regarding the daunting issues facing many trans men and women all across the nation. As part of that process, Caitlyn has endured several similarly tense encounters stemming from her political views and their place in a movement aimed at ensuring equality for all. Perhaps, with a bit more research and some guidance from friends like Chandi, Caitlyn will see the light regarding how Trump actually treats women.
