Amy Schumer's Upcoming Book 'The Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo' Gets Release Date

Amy Schumer's book debut has an official release date.

Fresh off of appearing in a Super Bowl ad alongside Seth Rogen which probably made for a huge payday Amy Schumer is about to cash out—as she is accustomed to doing these days—with the release of her book. Last fall we reported Schumer had inked a multimillion dollar book deal for The Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo and that it would be released late in 2016. Schumer's book now has a release date reports the Associated Press

The Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo (or what some would colloquially call a "tramp stamp") marks Schumer's debut as an author, so-to-speak. In today's announcement of the release date publisher Jennifer Bergstrom said, "Amy Schumer is not an entertainer who can actually write. She's a writer. Who also happens to entertain."

Gallery Books will be releasing the book of essays which will entertain audiences with "personal and observational stories from Schumer that range from the raunchy to the romantic, the heartfelt to the harrowing," according to Gallery. Carolyn Reidy, president and CEO of Gallery parent company Simon & Schuster, said in a statement: "Now readers will have the opportunity to meet Amy Schumer as a writer of real talent, a daughter, a sister, and a young professional making her way in the world." Audiences will get to see how Schumer started from the bottom, like maybe back when she was performing stand up on Conan

Schumer posted this photo, of what some think is the book cover, which has a funny subtitle reading: "Amy Schumer: First woman to write a book."

The Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo will be released Aug. 16.
