In a well-earned vote of confidence, Netflix has officially renewed Orange Is the New Black for another three seasons. The deal also includes the series-protecting stipulation that showrunner Jenji Kohan will remain in that position through at least season seven, Variety reports.

"Jenji’s brilliant creative vision and a truly amazing cast have catapulted Orange is the New Black to the forefront of the platinum age of television," Lionsgate TV Group chairman Kevin Beggs tells Variety. "We’re pleased that Orange fans around the world will be rewarded with another three seasons." According to Kohan, the renewal will definitely give the Orange team "plenty of time to do some interesting things."

The series, which drops its fourth season in June, had a very bragworthy evening at the recent Screen Actors Guild Awards. Uzo Aduba nabbed the award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series, while the entire cast was honored with Best Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
