Marvel heroine and small-screen star Hayley Atwell has landed a new gig. Atwell is currently starring in ABC's Agent Carter series as the endlessly charming but tough spy Peggy Carter, after being introduced to audiences in Captain America: The First Avenger. Agent Carter is in the middle of its second season right now, so with Atwell taking on a new project who knows what's in store for the Marvel series.
Atwell won't be straying from the current network Agent Carter calls home as the TV pilot she has been cast in is for ABC. Atwell also won't be straying from the right side of justice in the drama titled Conviction. In it she will play yet another character named Carter, Carter Morrison, an ex-president's daughter blackmailed into leading Los Angeles' new Conviction Integrity Unit reports Variety. Morrison, described as "brilliant but rebellious" (Much like my fave Jessica Jones) by Variety will "investigate cases where there’s credible suspicion that the wrong person may have been convicted of a crime."
According to Variety, neither Conviction nor Agent Carter would be affected in scheduling should Agent Carter return for a third season. Who knows if Conviction will even be ordered to series? A lot can happen, so hang on tight Agent Carter fans.
