There’s been a few TV shows over the years that have made the leap from live action to animation: Sabrina The Teenage Witch, Star Trek, The Addams Family. But they were all things you could imagine being aimed at kids. HBO shows though? That’s less likely.
Bay Area animator Elliot Lim has created this incredible animated intro for The Wire. He doesn’t directly recreate anyone like McNulty or Omar, instead going for mood and tone of the original titles. And it’s all to the strains of ‘Way Down In The Hole’, obviously.
Now we want True Detective Adventures or The Boardwalk Empire Kids next.
