The cast for the Tupac biopic All Eyez on Me continues to be announced with major players in the roles of Tupac Shakur and Pac's activist mother Afeni Shakur being squared away. Afeni Shakur will be played by TheWalking Dead's Danai Gurira, long overdue for some awards recognition for her role as Michonne on the monster AMC series. The folks here suggested the immensely talented Gurira portray Afeni Shakur back in 2013 when rumblings for a Tupac biopic began again, everyone else is just playing catch up. Gurira won't be the only Walking Dead alum on All Eyez on Me as the film has just cast Lauren Cohan a.k.a "Maggie Greene."

The rest of our casting for the biopic pulled now household names such as Creed's Michael B. Jordan as Tupac, Chadwick Boseman, before he was plucked for Black Panther in the Marvel universe, and John Boyega, before his Star Wars: The Force Awakens come up. Good luck getting him now. Cohan has been cast for the role of Leila Steinberg. Comicbook ResourcescitesDeadline as describing Steinberg as a "mentor" to Pac. "Steinberg was only 25 years old when she met the 17 year-old rapper Shakur who came to one of her workshops where she mentors kids to use their talent to make their lives better," writesDeadline. "She knew instantly that he was a different kind of talent and started working with him." Deadlinereports Steinberg was a mother at the time trying to "become a business manager."

In case you were wondering, we cast Rosario Dawson as Steinberg. Dawson is currently killing it in Netflix's Daredevil.

All Eyez on Me is currently filming.
