Do you ever get that perverse pride from watching US reality TV shows, and thinking that at least the UK doesn’t go that low? Well, prepare to feel that slip away, as MTV has just announced Teen Mom UK.

Yes, there’s going to be a British version of the 16 and Pregnant spin-off, which is apparently still going to be called “Teen Mom” and not “Teen Mum”, like it should be. According to the press release, “the UK version of the show will have the same core value of authenticity as the original and will follow a cast of teenage girls juggling their emotional teenage years with becoming a parent for the first time.” It’s due to air in the autumn.

And do you or your bae think you have what it takes to be the British Farrah Abraham? The producers are looking for young mums and pregnant teens to be on the show, and you can apply now on MTV’s website.

Of course, this isn’t the first UK take on an MTV reality show. Geordie Shore has pretty much outlived Jersey Shore by now, and controversial opinion, but Tim Westwood was an even better Pimp My Ride host than Xzibit.
