Stan Lee Wants a Marvel / 'Star Wars' Crossover, and Luke Skywalker to Be an Avenger

Stan Lee’s place in pop culture history is a total lock, being that he, y’know, created Spider-Man, The X-Men and The Avengers (with Steve Ditko and Jack Kirby respectively) back in the 1960s. But now at the age of 93, he’s more of a figurehead of Marvel and comics in general, than an actual creator.

That’s not to say he’s not still got ideas though. He’s been telling The Big Issue about how he’d like to see the Star Wars characters and The Avengers team up in a film, now that Disney owns them all:

I don’t know how many characters you can have in a movie but obviously the people who produce these things are looking to be as successful as possible. If they feel that incorporating Star Wars with the Marvel characters will be very successful, they’ll find a way to do it. Can you imagine Spider-Man saying: 'May the force be with you'? It may come to that!

And would they all be on the same team?

I created the Avengers by taking many of our characters and making a team out of them. We can have as many characters join The Avengers as we want to for future movies. That might be fun too – all of a sudden Luke Skywalker is an Avenger!

And we thought that story about Avengers: Infinity Wars having 67 main characters was excessive.
