At $949.8 million dollars, last night marked a record for the Powerball lottery. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) no one took home the grand prize. So records will continue to be broken next week, with the new jackpot amounting to $1.3 billion dollars.

Speaking to ABC News, executive director of the Texas Lottery Gary Grief expressed his surprise at the fact that no one took home the jackpot last night. He explained that 25 people who entered won $1 million dollars and three people won $2 million.

The cash prize for next week's Powerball lottery, which will take place on Jan. 13th, is estimated to be at around $806 million dollars. Nothing to laugh at. ABC News revealed that there's a one in 292.2 million chance of someone winning.

Good luck to all. For real.
