No presidency has been surrounded by more wackjob conspiracy theories than President Barack Obama's. They think he was born in Kenya. They think he's controlling Joe Biden. They think he's the friggin Antichrist.
So is it really all that shocking that when the president was overcome with emotion on Tuesday during a news conference to announce an executive action on gun control that theorists would accuse him of fake crying?
Here's what they're saying:
Fox News commentator Andrea Tantaros went as far as saying the president used a raw onion to bring the tears out.
The craziest part of all, perhaps, is that known Obama truther Donald Trump actually defended the president's tears as being "sincere" when he called in to Fox and Friends.
Via The Fiscal Times:
Trump, who leads most polls in the GOP presidential primary, said, “It's a thing that he (Obama) feels – I think he's incorrect about it, they're just taking chunks and chunks out of the Second Amendment, but I think he probably means well.”
“I actually think he was sincere,” Trump said. “I’ll probably go down about 5 points in the polls for saying that.”
