A random police check at a baseball field in Brick, New Jersey led to officers finding a small arsenal inside the car of an Indiana man who had apparently driven across the country.

NJ.com reports that police say they found 24-year-old Antonio J. Perez sleeping in his car at the field, tired from the long drive and armed with four, fully-loaded weapons including three handguns and a WASR 10, which is a rifle similar to an AK-47. He also had a gas mask and pepper spray, police said.

Here's his mugshot via Ocean County Jail.

The man told police he'd traveled to Jersey to visit his "Facebook girlfriend" who he'd met two years ago online but had never met in person, although it's not clear if the woman even knew the guy was in her neighborhood, police said. It's also not clear why the guy thought he needed that much firepower or what he was planning to do with it.

Police arrested Perez on charges of stalking, various weapons possession charges, possession of destructive devices, possession of certain types of bullets, possession of a large capacity magazine, marijuana possession and not having his vehicle registered.
