Hannibal Buress stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday for a fresh set of sit-down comedy, just days ahead of the debut of his new Netflix special Comedy Camisado. Thankfully, Buress was armed with a cautionary tale of why getting day-drunk ahead of a show is generally considered a relatively terrible idea.

"I keep it professional," Buress tells Kimmel. "People deserve it. They paid money." However, one West Palm Beach set in 2014 defied that routine. "This was the last day of a ten-day bus tour," Buress details. "We went out on a boat [and] we're drinking all day." After taking the party to the bus en route to the show, the buzz starts to kick into overdrive as he gets closer to the stage: "I remember getting in the cab on the way to the show, but when I got to the show, I didn't realize a show was happening."

Though Buress recently revealed that he was relatively certain his Comedy Central series Why? With Hannibal Buress would remain a one-off event, his top-shelf stand-up (not to mention his ability to make dentists seem cool on Broad City) should more than fill the void left behind by that delightfully strange series.
