No time for fancy formalities befitting of the seven kingdoms. Game of Thrones season six, long teased through posters for the new season, teaser trailers and more trailers, is coming before George R.R. Martin's Winds of Winter, but that's quite alright. The premiere date for Thrones' return has been announced.

At the Television Critics Association press tour a raven HBO announced season six would return April 24. So the wait is almost over everyone. In a little over three months we'll find out (SPOILERS AHEAD): Is Jon Snow dead? What the heck has Bran Stark been up to (besides puberty)? What's going to happen in Daenerys’ not-so-happy reunion with the Dothraki? Where will Arya, now blinded, go from here? Just kidding on the last one. Arya is the worst.

In case you thought you were dreaming here's the premiere date again:

Now thank the old gods and the new, the lord of light, or whichever deity you worship.
