While the newest trailer for Superman v Batman: Dawn of Justice is probably taking up most of your attention, that doesn't mean there hasn't been some other good offerings. It's the time of the year where things start to slow down film-wise, but there were still a couple of pretty interesting trailers that debuted since Thanksgiving. In addition to Superman v Batman, which will mark Ben Affleck's first time playing the Caped Crusader, trailers dropped for Ride Along 2, Eye in the SkyI Saw the Light, Mojave and The Boss

Director: Gavin Hood

Stars: Helen Mirren, Alan Rickman, Aaron Paul, Barkhad Abdi

Release Date: March 11

The ever-talked about controversy surrounding drone warfare has managed to inspire its own genre in film. Earlier this year we saw the psychological ramifications that drone programs have on soldiers in Good Kill, a film starring Ethan Hawke. And now, a new thriller, which premiered in Toronto, poses a new conflict. Eye in the Sky follows a team of people who debate whether or not to take out a suicide bomber, even if it means putting innocent lives at stake. It looks interesting enough, and, if all else fails, at least the cast is all across the board great.

Director: Tim Story

Stars: Kevin Hart, Ice Cube

Release Date: January 15

Way back in 2014 we were given Ride Along, a buddy cop comedy starring Ice Cube and Kevin Hart. Although it didn't fare so well critically, it did well enough to inspire a sequel, Ride Along 2, which will make its way to theaters early next year. Kevin Hart stars as a new cop who desperately wants to make detective. His partner, played by Ice Cube, can't stand him because, well, he's kind of wild. Despite their different personalities, the two are sent to Miami to stop a huge drug lord. Miami! While it's not going to win an Academy Award any time soon, it looks to be a fun way to welcome the new year.

Director: Marc Abraham

Stars: Tom Hiddleston, Elizabeth Olsen

Release Date: March 25

Even though it's not the greatest likeness, Tom Hiddleston still manages to channel country singer Hank Williams in I Saw the Light. The film, a biopic that chronicles Williams’ short, but tumultuous life, specifically his rise to fame, his first marriage to Audrey Sheppard (Elizabeth Olsen), his alcohol and drug abuse, and finally his death at 29 years old. While it didn’t get the best reception when it premiered at Toronto earlier this year, this new trailer looks like a pretty decent showcase for two of today’s best working actors.

Mojave

Director: William Monahan

Stars: Garrett Hedlund, Oscar Isaac

Release Date: January 6

In Mojave Garrett Hedlund stars as a depressed artist who heads to the renowned desert to try and figure his life out—because going to a desert by yourself is a really great way to get your shit together. Once there her encounters a doppelganger-ish villainous character, played by Oscar Isaac in his latest role that shows he’s probably the most versatile actor working today.

The Boss

Director: Ben Falcone

Stars: Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Bell, Peter Dinklage, Kathy Bates

Release Date: April 8

Melissa McCarthy films are so hit or miss. She was wonderful in this year's Spy, underwhelmed in Tammy the year before, and will now appear in The Boss—the latest comedy directed by her husband, Ben Falcone. Sporting a cheesy wig and a bunch of fancy turtlenecks, McCarthy plays Michelle Darnell, an unbearable wealthy woman who is sent to prison for insider trading. When she gets out she attempts to rehabilitate her image—with mixed results. It looks formulaic, but with costars like Kristen Bell, Peter Dinklage, and Kathy Bates it might end up being another winner or at least make a ton of money.
