One of the best things about a new Tarantino film—as well as the film itself—is that we get a whole load of new interviews and outspoken opinions from the guy.

And now, thanks to a French interviewer, QT has revealed his favourite film of the year. He’s actually got an odd track record on this—he gave The Lone Ranger his number one spot in 2013—but this year he’s gone for the very acceptable choice of Mad Max: Fury Road. His opinion may have been affected by the fact that he apparently got his own 35mm print in house, that he watch three times in one weekend. He also said that he had trouble accepting anyone but Mel Gibson in the role at first, until he saw the film and realised that Tom Hardy is, y’know, pretty sick.
