PROMO: Win Custom Prints by Pencil Fingerz in Honor of 'The Wiz LIVE!'

When The Wiz first premiered on Broadway 40 years ago, it was an exhilarating, enchanting, and surprisingly poignant experience, updating L. Frank Baum’s classic 1900 book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and the subsequent, iconic film adaptation. Like with all great works of theatre, The Wiz has stood the test of time, with themes, characters, and music that still speak to audiences of all backgrounds four decades later.

On Dec. 3, NBC will air a new revival of the classic musical live on TV. With an all-star cast that includes Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige, David Alan Grier, Common, and NE-YO, the new production is directed by Tony Award winner Kenny Leon (A Raisin in the Sun starring Denzel Washington). 

To celebrate this momentous occasion, NBC and Complex commissioned artist Davis Graham, a.k.a. Pencil Fingerz, to create four custom prints that encapsulate what The Wiz means most to him. Graham has a deep appreciation of The Wizard of Oz story in all its incarnations, and was a die-hard fan of Michael Jackson (who played the Scarecrow in the feature film adaptation of The Wiz), so the project is very meaningful to him—and that sentiment is reflected in the beautiful art he’s created.
