If you're a man, have any men in your life, or have been wondering why you've recently seen more guys with mustaches than usual—listen up. We're more than halfway through Movember!

During Movember men are encouraged to start with a fresh face on November 1, then grow a mustache for the entire 30 days of the month as a way to show support and raise awareness for the cause. Essentially, your mustache (or struggle-stache) becomes a walking billboard for men's health awareness.

The Movember Foundation focuses on four key areas of men's health: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health, and physical inactivity. The foundation has spent over a decade championing men's health and has raised $650 million to fund over 1,000 programs since 2003

I recently attended a dinner hosted by Joe Jonas, Birchbox Man, and the Movember Foundation and learned a lot about men's health, so I'm doing my part to raise awareness—you should, too.

Guys, don't forget to schedule regular checkups. Talk to your doctor if you notice anything unusual on your body, or if you're struggling with mental health issues. Everyone can be a supporter by encouraging the men in their life to take care of their health.

Here's to hoping that you're having a healthy, hairy Movember.
