For those unnecessary sequel enthusiasts who blindly assumed that the world would definitely be getting a Momentum 2, this news might be daunting. Though the thriller stars Olga Kurylenko, James Purefoy, and the inimitableMorgan Freeman, Momentum only grossed the equivalent of 69 bucks at the UK box office last weekend. The film, which revolves around the seemingly profitable story of a diamond heist gone awry, also boasts a $30 million production budget, according to the Wrap.

Though it’s worth noting that the film was in limited release (10 theaters, to be exact) when snagging those 69 bucks, two theaters reported a total ticket sales haul of $0.00. Momentum is also doing amazingly well in the critics’ department, which is definitely not a statement born of sarcasm:

The film has apparently performed a bit better in other international markets ($256,000 in Russia, for example), though its days as anything that people actually remember are clearly numbered. For what it's worth, you can peep the trailer below and ponder why a film seemingly stacked with all the things (heists, running, guns, leather jackets) that usually make for a quick and easy blockbuster has swiftly made its own title screamingly ironic:
