This past Valentine's Day we were gifted with Fifty Shades of Grey, the movie adaptation of the extremely popular novel that follows the romance between the mysterious and suave Christian Grey and journalist Anastasia Steele, played by Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson respectively. Not even a year later actor and comedian Marlon Wayans is here to make his own mark on the saucy cult sensation with Fifty Shades of Black, a very different (and perhaps better) adaptation, directed by Michael Tiddes.

A trailer for the movie, which drops Jan. 29, has been released. Fifty Shades of Black adopts the cheesy style that made the original trailer so wonderful, but it still takes a slightly different and more blatantly comedic approach. Wayans stars as Christian Black, a billionaire executive who is in pursuit of a young, Steele-like woman played by Kali Hawk. It has the same basic plot points as Fifty Shades of Grey, but in it Wayans tackles and mocks whiteness, black stereotypes, and, in a brief tease, Kim Kardashian's Paper cover shot

Fifty Shades of Black also stars Jane Seymour and Mike Epps. Wayans excitedly tweeted a link with the first trailer, which you can check out above.
