With comic book shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Daredevil getting more small screen love, we may be getting another TV adaptation of a beloved comic soon. Our friends over at Collider broke the news today that HBO is eyeing Watchmen as an upcoming TV series after the 2009 Zack Snyder-directed DC Comics film (arguably cult flick status) based off Alan Moore's 1986 comic book. Though nothing has been greenlit so far, sources tell Collider Snyder has been meeting with HBO—that's something to get excited about, but there's a lot that goes into actually making a TV show happen, and it sounds like the deal isn't very far along yet. If Watchmen the TV show does happen, it may be a TV show version of the story found in the movie, or a sequel, or (and this is my bet), a prequel based on 2012's Before Watchmen. (I mean, the source material is already there, and I'd rather see that rather than the same story we saw in the 2009 movie.)

Read more about the scoop here. Maybe this is a good weekend to revisit Watchmen.
