The Texan town of Round Rock is in a state of disarray after a squad of four emus decided to wreak havoc on a residential neighbourhood in the area. Police have been called in to capture the giant birds, who they described as "highly dangerous", and have warned residents to keep an eye out for the escapees but not to approach or feed them.

The avian agitators are a local group known to police that have been harassing the Forest Creek Golf Community. Police are working with both the owner of the emus, as well as the Animal Control Unit to sort the thugs out. It was also reported that residents were attempting to “shoo” the animals into a more rural area. In April, police had to track down a loose buffalo in the same area – it appears that the town is very possibly auditioning to be the primary shooting location for the inevitable Jumanji reboot.

Emus are endemic to Australia, meaning they are not found naturally anywhere else in the world. Footage and images of the runaway creatures have been hitting social media since Thursday:

The birds were last seen at about 2.13pm on Thursday, US time – speculation is rife as to whether these Emuz With Attitude will indeed return to terrorise local residents again.
