Tom Cruise has made a career of performing death-defying stunts and evading serious injury, and it looks like that guardian angel was watching over him once again. Deadline reports that two are dead and a third is injured after a plane used for crew working on the set of his drug war flick Mena crashed in Colombia. Cruise was not on board since he wrapped a scene just before the accident.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a spokesperson told reporters that two American pilots and a Colombian were on the twin-engine Aerostar, but authorities have yet to verify the identities of the two who were killed. The official went on to say that the plane ran into bad weather after taking off from a small town near Medellin late Friday afternoon.

The film centers on Barry Seal, a TWA pilot turned drug smuggler for the Medellín Cartel. He later became an informant for the DEA, who has targeted the Sandinista government of Nicaragua.

A rep for Tom Cruise has yet to comment on the tragic incident.
