UPDATE (9/26/15): Cody Pines, the hero who came to a blind kid's defense, was not suspended from school, Huntington Beach High School's public information coordinator confirms. Here's her statement in full:

In the Education Code it is a school district's responsibility to protect student records, as well as to be of personal support to their families. We want to thank the family of the student who came to the aid of his fellow classmate, as they have granted us permission to share the following information:

UPDATE (9/25/15): According to The Daily Mail, Cody, who most people were calling a hero for coming to the defense of the blind kid who was getting punched by a bully, has been suspended from school and kicked off his high school's football team for what he did.

The school apparently has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to violence, even when that violence is being waged on a total douchebag.

There's an online petition to get Cody back on the football team.

Bullies come in all ages, but you’ll find the absolute worst ones throughout your four years of high school. Sometimes you’ll find peace in seeing them years later and realizing how washed they are and how you've flourished, other times you’ll get to enjoy sweet moments like this one where the bully gets his ass handed to him in beautiful karmic timing.

In the video above at Huntington Beach High School a bully lands two punches on Austin, who is blind, before Cody knocks the douchebag down to the concrete with a swing. Despite being visibly hurt—the bully was bleeding from his face—he didn’t stop there and proceeded to call Cody a “bitch.” The two exchanged words before Cody left him with a warning: “I swear to God, if you fucking fuck with this kid again I will fuck you up.”

Spoken like a true hero.
