Finally Confirmed: A 'Flight of the Conchords' Movie Is in the Works

Jemaine Clement has some exciting news for fans of the comedy-music duo.

It's been over half a decade since we last saw the popular New Zealand musical comedy duo Flight of the Conchords on the telly—after two, hilarious yet short-lived seasons on HBO (2007–2009). Though we've seen one-half of the duo, Jemaine Clement, in other comedic spaces (like this year's blood-spewing funny vampire mockumentary, What We Do in the Shadows, and his upcoming film People Places Things).

But the people are itchin' with nostalgia, and want to know, "will we see more of the Conchords?" There was speculation of a movie version, but no confirmation until now. In a new Indiewire interview Clement confirmed he and his Conchords mate Bret McKenzie have indeed been writing the film:

"We have actually started writing one. But who knows if it will ever be made, we've written some notes for some different film ideas. We're not down to the stage where we're going, "The film is going to be like this," it could be this, this, this, this, this."

Crossing fingers this materializes. It's been too long, boys. There is, however, a reunion tour coming soon, so there's that. Flight of the Conchords fans: What's your favorite musical skit? Think mine might be "Hurt Feelings (Tears of a Rapper)":
