At Least 12 People Killed in a Bomb Blast at a Popular Tourist Site in Bangkok

It was reportedly caused by a bomb on a motorcycle.

An explosion, believed to be a bomb, has killed 12 people and injured at least 20 in Bangkok. The blast happened at the Erawan Shrine, a popular tourist destination that houses a statue of Hindu god Brahma.

Reports say that debris and motorcycles were left scattered at scene. The explosion happened at around 7pm local time, and the deputy national police chief has stated that it may have been caused by a bomb hidden on a motorcycle. The area is currently being evacuated over fears that there could be other explosives.
