Unquestionably, Comedy Central has given us more than its fair share of our favorite comedians. Even if you took out the entire stable of The Daily Show alumni (which includes Stephen Colbert and Steve Carell, among so many others) you'd still have Broad City’s Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, Nick Kroll, and a strong candidate for woman of the year, Amy Schumer. Stand-up comedian and actor Hannibal Buress has been part of the Comedy Central family for a minute, playing Ilana's friend-with-benefits, Lincoln, on Broad City and making cameos in a host of other shows. Now it is time for H.B. to step into the limelight with his own Comedy Central series. Why? with Hannibal Buress, which premiered on July 8, allows Hannibal to mix stand-up, sketch, and current events in a way perfectly suited to his laid-back demeanor, and sly, often indirect comic approach. In the sketch above, which is from the series premiere, Hannibal confronts the modern comedian's worst enemy—the social media troll. Why? with Hannibal Buress is on Wednesdays at 10:30/9:30c on Comedy Central, or watch full episodes anytime on the Comedy Central App.
