Rachel Dolezal Resigns From Spokane NAACP Chapter

Rachel Dolezal officially resigns from position at NAACP in light of her racial identity controversy.

Reporter/host of NPR, Rose Scott, reports that Rachel Dolezal has officially resigned from her position as Spokane Chapter NAACP's president.

 

She was elected president of the N.A.A.C.P. chapter last year and had been credited to lifting their finances, visibility and membership according to The New York TimesDolezal releases a statement and says,


In the eye of current storm, I can see that a separation of family and organizational outcomes is in the best interest of the NAACP

Dolezal also further explains her resignation via Spokane NAACP's Facebook page:

Rachel Dolezal's parents appeared on the Today Show Monday morning and are to appear on Good Morning America as well.
