Officers in Fairfield, Ohio are facing accusations of excessive force and potential brutality following a troubling incident centered on arrests made at a public pool. According toWLWT, police are claiming the incident was simply a case of disorderly conduct and are standing by their actions. However, the impacted family — alongside Bishop Bobby Hilton — suspects something far more sinister was at play.

Phone-captured footage (above) depicts an unsettling scene between the family and officers, reportedly stemming from improper swimwear. Hilton — currently acting as spokesman for the family —  says that the mother brought eight children to the public swimming area. After being informed of improper swimwear for one child, the individual proceeded to gather up the remaining children shortly before being apprehended. "It was one minute and 45 seconds from the time the mother entered the facility until the time she was turning around headed back to her car and the officer stopped her," says Hilton.

Hilton also points out that five people were sent to the hospital following the incident, with an unidentified man contributing to the assault of a 15-year-old and an officer directly injuring a 12-year-old child. In addition to brutal tactics such as slamming one individual against a police cruiser (reportedly resulting in a broken jaw and other injuries), officers also employed pepper spray on the family.

More to come.
