One of the funniest scenes in the Dope trailers released so far has been the one in which Blake Anderson's character, Will, pleads his case to be able to say the "n word." In this exclusive clip from the movie we learn there's a backstory behind Will's desire for a pass.

Will first became friends with Malcolm, Diggy, and Jib at band camp—the crew took to the stoner because he cited A Tribe Called Quest's "Sucka N***a" in his argument for the word as a term of endearment. But he never used the word again after getting slapped by Diggy.

Watch the clip above, and look out for Dope in theaters June 19.
