Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign is barely two days old, and already he's facing his second juicy, embarrassing gaffe (the first being his unauthorized use of Neil Young's "Rockin' in the Free World"). The candidate made his announcement to an exuberant crowd, but THR is reporting Trump paid actors $50 to make it happen. Because a crowd full of Trump supporters seemed too crazy to be true.
THR obtained an email from Extra Mile Casting sent out last Friday seeking actors to "wear t-shirts and carry signs and help cheer him in support of his announcement." Angelo Carusone, an anti-Trump activist, first raised the issue when he noticed a background actor posing at the event.
A person who answered the phone at Extra Mile said they didn't know anything about the casting and declined to comment further, while Corey Lewandowski straight up said no if he'd heard of the casting agency.
Given his reported (and disputed) $8.7 billion net worth, perhaps Trump can try to buy off voters as well.
