Several streets in Midtown Manhattan were evacuated after a construction crane smashed into a building injuring several people.

The collision damaged the facade of the building and sent debris falling to the street below, officials said. Traffic was being detoured around the area.
On Twitter, officials said that the can was lifting an AC unit when a cable snapped, causing the accident.
