Authorities Discover 66 Pounds of Cocaine on Texas Beach

Police say it could be worth over $3.5 million if broken down and sold.

Police in Texas say nearly $100,000 worth of cocaine washed ashore earlier this week.

According to KHOU, the Galvestone Police Department was alerted to a package that turned up on the beach in Galveston, Texas on Monday. KHOU adds that, while the cocaine is valued at $855,000 in bulk, it could be worth upwards of $3.5 million if broken down and distributed.

What's more, authorities told KHOU the drugs likely belong to the Gulf Cartel due to he dolphin branded on each package.
